YOU ARE GOOD

Beloved ones,

I want to tell you something that will cut short the painful evolution of man if you will believe it, truly accept it:

Badness and separation of man are both false ideas. Man is never bad, and never separate.

However, man believes that he is separate. And, he also believes that he is bad. Therefore, based on his belief that he is bad, he tries to become good. And, based on his belief that he is separate, he considers himself on a mission to attain true goodness, as a separate individual, forming and molding his separate self into what he considers to be good.

This brings Me to man's idea of goodness. If man thinks that he is separate and bad, then he also has an idea of what goodness is -- an idea that is false. The truth is, man is INHERENTLY good, BECAUSE he is part of Me, and I AM GOOD. But if he thinks he is separate and bad, then he thinks goodness is something to be attained, apart from what he is, and different from what he is.

Based on this belief, man has created for himself a set of ideas that he calls "goodness." Many of these ideas are truly good. Man knows, for example, that love and compassion are good. Yet, he does not know that they cannot be achieved by trying, as a "separate" and "bad" person, to become "good." The result of this will only be a learned character, a learned behavior, all with effort.

As man comes to see who he REALLY is, he will know the truth of all of existence. He will see "others" as himself, and love all. He will feel himself to be an expression of Me, and will NATURALLY pour forth My love, and feel My care for all of My creation. He will feel connected to and responsible for all that is; for all that exists is his own, just as it is My own. This is the nature of man, in his true and natural condition, because this is the nature of I. Man is perfect, just as I am perfect. Man is not bad. It is impossible for man to be bad because I am not bad, and man was born out of I. Man is, therefore, naturally good, as I am good. And man is always with Me. Man is ALWAYS with Me and as Me. Man is not separate.

Therefore, erase your ideas of goodness, ethics, and so forth, from your mind, and stop trying to learn or develop these things in yourself. It is good for man to be kind to his fellow man. It is good for people to love one another. All of these things are truly good. But these things are not the goal for man. The goal for man is to make one another happy, to heal one another, to delight one another. These cares and responsibilities you naturally feel, because you are My children, and I feel these things. And, as you feel these things, you will NATURALLY do the right thing, you will naturally love, and be compassionate -- without having to try.

Therefore, do not worry about being good, for you shall never attain the expression of true goodness by worrying about being good, or by trying to be good. True goodness IS. Trying to attain it simply causes you not to do what you would naturally do, because it absorbs your mind and attention in an endless endeavor -- one which cannot be fulfilled, and which makes you forget your true purposes. Your true purposes -- to heal, make happy, delight, and help, which, I have already said, naturally inspire good behavior -- are born out of the natural goodness that is I. That true goodness that is I is also all of you, because I made you from I.
