Looking around us, it's obvious that worldwide standards of morality are far too low for anyone's good. But we can't expect our traditional sources for morality -- religion and spirituality -- to correct the shortfall. They themselves, as they are commonly practiced, have actually helped perpetuate the problem. To improve our world, we must bring religion and spirituality up to our own inner standards, not the other way around.

This article puts us back in touch with our God-given resources -- inner knowingness, feeling sensitivity, and God-connection -- and shows how we can stay true to them. By doing that, we can go beyond where religion and spirituality have stranded us, and bring them along as well.
